Looking for an Obama sign?

Posted by Annie on October 14, 2008

If you’re one of the many people seeking Obama yard signs in Harford county and aren’t having much luck finding information online, here’s some help.

There are two Obama offices in Harford County: one in Aberdeen and one in Bel Air. The Aberdeen office is at 401 Market Street (either Suite 400 or 401, I have two different addresses in my emails) and the phone number is 410-297-8530. We’ve also received a comment on this blog that you can go to the Obama office in Bel Air on a weekday between 9 and 5 for a sign.  That office is at 137 Alice Ann St # B.  The office at 202 South Main St, at the corner of South Main and Churchville Road (Route 22) is the office for Frank Kratovil (thanks for the correction).  I’m unable to find a phone number for the Bel Air office but you can always stop by during the hours I mentioned.  One last option: you can email harfordcountyforbarackobama@gmail.com.

Don’t feel too badly about the lack of signs in Harford County; part of the issue is that since Maryland is a strong blue state, there aren’t many free Obama signs floating around.  If you lived in Ohio and wanted a sign, it’d be much easier to get one!  Many of the signs that are available were paid for by donations from the individual folks involved in the Harford for Obama campaign; thanks for all your work and dedication!  I’ve been thrilled with the number of people asking me about getting Obama signs, in my daily life, when they see my bumper sticker in a parking lot, as I worked at the Democratic Party table at the Darlington Apple Festival…it’s makes me hopeful for Harford County!

Rock’n’Register is Saturday!

Posted by Annie on September 9, 2008

If you’re looking for something to do on Saturday, September 13th between the hours of 2:00 and 10:00, check out Rock’n’Register at Harford Community College.  It’s an all-ages battle of the bands show, costs $6 in advance and $8 at the door (all money after cost goes to a local non-profit), and you’ll get to hear some good local music.  Plus you can vote for your favorite band, as well as for the non-profit that should receive the money, on a voting machine from the Harford County Board of Elections.  There will be political organizations, candidates, and an opportunity to register to vote.  Click here for more information.

Therefore, we must make every effort to increase the number of registered voters and thereby increase voter turnout. March meeting

Posted by Annie on March 5, 2008

Just wanted to post a reminder that our next meeting will be at 6:30 on March 19th at Sean Bolan’s, the best restaurant in Bel Air.  We had a lively meeting in February with some new faces (who brought great ideas and energy), so come join us!  I’m sure we’ll have an interesting discussion about the yet-to-be-determined Democratic candidate…

Harford for Hillary

Posted by Annie on February 11, 2008

I haven’t heard any specifics about events for Hillary Clinton in Harford County, but I wanted to pass along a way to get involved in her campaign.  At Maryland Headquarters of Hillary Clnton’s website you can volunteer at the Baltimore phone bank or “Become a local volunteer for Hillary” by filling out a short online form with your contact information and what you are interested in doing.  I would hope that if you do this it would connect you with others involved in the Harford for Hillary movement, as I know that one exists!

Harford for Obama

Posted by Annie on February 8, 2008

There will be an Obama rally this Sunday, February 10th at 1:15 at the Holiday Inn in Aberdeen.  There is a volunteer coordinator for the campaign in the county, as well as an office at 16 N. Philadelphia Road which can be reached at 410-297-8530.  They are also looking for people to do some honking and waving, make phone calls,  door knock, and work at the polls on primary day.

Also, the L.A. Times has endorsed their first presidential candidate since 1972 by endorsing Obama.  Click here to read the article.

Seeking Information!

Posted by Annie on February 1, 2008

As the presidential race has narrowed to two main candidates (sorry Mike), I would like to post information on this blog about groups that I know already exist in Harford County and/or Maryland.  If you are involved in a local group working for either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, please comment here and let us know when your next meeting is.  We can also add it to the calendar.  Thanks!
